Emy (Burback) Diaz

Originally from Colorado, Emy has lived in other countries and states before finding her way to Arizona and Puerto Peñasco. She discovered Puerto Peñasco in 1999 where she and her husband, Ed, lived for 10 years while owning/operating a rental and property management company and developing a residential, gated community. For the past 13 years, Emy has worked as a marketer in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry in Arizona. She currently provides marketing and CRM consulting services and solutions to the AEC industry through her company, Marketing Engine. She holds an MBA and is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM). Emy is a past president of the Arizona Chapter for the Society of Marketing Professional Services and is the association administrator for the Central Arizona Society of Healthcare Engineering. She has served on the board and committees for several Arizona Chapter associations including the Construction Management Association of America and Arizona Public Works Association.

Emy proudly admits she suffers from wanderlust, which is evident in her passion to travel and experience other cultures. Other passions include paddle boarding, cooking, and spending time with her husband and 3 four-legged children.

Emy and Ed became full-time Puerto Peñasco residents for the second time in 2018 and continue to be passionate about the community in which they live. They have witnessed the direct results of Steps of Love’s mission in providing infrastructure and programming to break the cycle of poverty, and admire the local team and their commitment and dedication to delivering and serving the community with these tools.
