AIM Peñasco Plan for Support
Help us bridge the gap for the families and students in our program during this unprecedented time!
During this unprecedented time, families in our program are especially vulnerable. Our main priority is help meet our families’ basic needs for food, water and home supplies.
We have identified items to be purchased or collected and distributed to the families who have been identified as especially vulnerable by AIM’s social worker.
Because the Sonoran state health department has issued protocols to minimize contact, all donations can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the local Peñasco Lions Club. AIM staff will be making deliveries to families’ front doors without entering the homes.
In this time of need, our amazing and dedicated AIM Peñasco teachers and administrative staff are donating 20% of their salaries toward the purchase of food for our families.
Your cash donation lets us purchase these needed items! Here are the materials we need to purchase:
We have partnered with a local grocery store that gives discounts for our program.
- Bottled water
- Ramen Noodles
- Tomato puree
- Mixed vegetables (canned)
- Sardines (canned)
- Corn (canned)
- Milk (powdered or liquid)
- Vegetable Oil
- Laundry soap
- Pinto Beans
- Wheat Flour
- Corn Flour
- Bags of rice
- Bags of soy beans
These gas coupons are to help us deliver all home goods and education supplies. If you’re local, your can purchase coupons at the Las Conchas gas station and then drop them off at the Lions Club.
Home internet service
Some families need internet access to access virtual instruction and homework. Identified by our social worker, internet credit will be given to those who cannot afford consistent internet service.
Staff is working from home developing lesson plans and activities for all student levels. Educational packets will be delivered weekly for students to work on at home in an effort to keep them from falling too far behind. Here are the materials we need to purchase:
- Glue sticks
- Reams of copy paper
- Washable markers
- Spiral Notebooks
- Pencil Sharpeners
Canon 250 & 251 (or another brand that is compatible) are needed to print educational materials for the home packets. We are asking for donations of the actual ink cartridges or cash to purchase them.
While teachers will not have direct contact with students, we are still working to provide ongoing educational support by offering two full hours of daily streaming instruction for different program levels live through Facebook.
Donations of these items can be dropped off at Lion’s Club or through cash or online donations
